This page contains the minutes from the 08/08/2005 basketball board meeting. Attendees:: Jack Brown, Clem Brooks, Jeff Albers, Jon Decker, Mike Hegarty, Alan Reed, Fred Verzone, Carlos Woosley, and camp director Ed Sidlasky. Ed Sidlasky reviewed the comments from the USF WCOA Camp clinicians and discussed plans for the following camps with the board members. The St. Leo camp attendance and participation was discussed by Fred Verzone, with the potential new members being briefly reviewed The board discussed the criteria for the following year's playoff crews as to requirements to participate on a play off crew. Additional discussion and planning for the fall WCOA clinic was initiated with follow up meeting for finalize details. Additional discussion involved methods to encourage increased participation in the fall scrimmages. The board thinks that there is a need for guidelines for coaches participating in summer leagues and will finalize this in later meetings. The next board meeting is scheduled for 08/24 and the basketball meeting dates for 2005-06 will be finalized then. VP Alan Reed will contact Armwood High School about having a basketball only meeting on August 29 to make sure everyone is aware of State and WCOA deadlines for registration and to discuss the latest news on fingerprinting and background checks. WCOA president Clem emphasized the need for all
of our officials to use only approved high school mechanics. |
