This page contains the minutes from the 07/30/2007 basketball board meeting.

Attendees: Jeff Albers, Jack Brown,  Chuck Kindred, Leo Sykes, Clem Brooks

The meeting was called to order at 6:35pm.
The minutes from the 07/16/07 meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously.

A motion was made and approved unanimously to accept Jim Eckler to fill the vacancy from Dave Queen's resignation on the board for the remainder of the term.

The board met with a former basketball member regarding reinstatement, reviewing prior issues as well as discussing the requirements for this reinstatement, then tabled this item for consideration at the next meeting.

Old Business
1. Jack Brown gave an update on the location of the video equipment. All the equipment has been located and Jack has the three video cameras, Nolan Padgett has the lap top and Jerome Smith has the LCD projector. Once Jack has possession of all the equipment he will create a system track all equipment when it is checked out by anyone in the WCOA.

2. Jack gave an update on the new evaluation system, how the forms work and who the evaluators were. Jack stated that he would utilize the form created by Leo Sykes but he would continue to tweak the form to make it more user friendly.

3 Clem reported that the issues with fingerprinting in Pasco county has been resolved and that they would be accepting our forms from Hillsborough County.

4. The board revised our meeting dates based on the information that we received from Clem about current football meeting dates. The revised dates are as follows: 8/29, 9/12, 10/10, 10/24.

5. Leo gave an update on the new officials certification program and class location and times. Classes will be starting on 8/08/07 at 6:00 PM at the USF recreation center.

6. Each board member gave an update on their committees, with one committee requiring a change. Jack reported that Alan W. would not be able to serve on the Evaluation committee, and stated that he would find a replacement.

New Business

A. Jeff stated that he would look into having all the meetings at Armwood and will check to see if Armwood is available on all the dates.

B. Leo reported that he contacted all the people on the list that Jeff gave him who had registered on the website and stated that he has 10 people confirmed for class so far.

The next meeting was scheduled for 08/13/07 and the meeting was adjourned at 8:30PM.
