This page contains the minutes from the 2003-2004 basketball board meetings.

07/23/03- Attendees: John Adejunmobi, Jack Brown Jon Decker,  Mike Hegarty, Mike Crosslin, Matt Geer. Mike Hegarty chaired the meeting as VP Jim Eckler was out of town.

Mike Crosslin presented an executive summary of the WCOA camp  The board reviewed the information as accepted it as presented. Several items were suggested as modifications to the camp for next year. Several members were discusses and all evaluations from the camp clinicians were reviewed. The board voted to decline a inquiry from  a 3rd party involvement had to do with an inquiry by Tony McDonald, (Disney Booking Agent) President of OfficiallyOfficials.com, about the possibility of jointly running a camp with his organization. The board felt that although this would provide quality clinicians, it would also increase the basic low cost to our officials. The board feels that it is important to keep this camp a High School camp, designed for training officials for the high school level.

Electronic Delivery of Schedules:  The software provider for the WCOA basketball schedules has an automated delivery service that will automatically send schedules to a specific email ID, which will allow the schedules to be distributed easier, faster and with more accuracy. This would require members to have access to emails but provisions are being made for those members who do not have access.

FHSAA mandated 10 training sessions for associations : After discussions it was agreed that we would provide for more than the FSHAA required 10 training sessions for membership. This is a recommended plan for 16 possible opportunities for training credits ( 2 - June Camp, 4 - PreSeason Scrimmages (dates TBD), 2 - TP Rules Sessions, 1 - HalfDay Clinic,  4 PreSeason Training and/or Meeting nights and 3 InSeason Meeting nights.) This will be finalized at a later meeting.

2003-04 Meeting location : Jefferson High School will not be available for meetings this year and a new location will have to be determined.

Basketball Banquet : The board discussed the need to add a date for banquet during week of boys and girls regional action. Probably on Wednesday night when no teams are playing.
